Need info on Air Jack Extension jackstands
I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. last year before i had Air Jacks I saw a air jack equipped car run their airjacks to full extension they then placed a jackstand over each extension and retraced the jacks which left the car 10 inches oft the ground resting on the jackstands. Next they flipped a center core into the jackstands where the extension tubes move and activated the jacks again which now pressed down on the movable center core and lifted the car twice as high as jack alone.
Bases were wide and everything looked stable, they then inserted the standard airjack support stands on top of the jackstand and lowered the car onto these.
Net result they were able to service under the car easily.
First are these safe, second if so Where can I find these and what are they called, anyone have a used set you want to get rid oo

I think Nick (nmercier....) has made some for people as well. Might want to send him a PM or post in the cup car forum.

The Racers Group sells them also. I've recently seen a set on FleaBay for $1200. That's far less than any other sets I've seen, so I guess I would be somewhat skeptical/leery of them. They are called SAFETY stands for a reason!

Try Gary, he is probably the one building them for TRG.
I worked with him at 24Daytona on the old ARE car before he was with TRG. Good guy, great fabricator. I've bought some stuff from him and he's always reasonable and well built.
