Default USCR Class question

They've got DP and LMP2 together.

Did they speed up DP or slow down LMP2? I hope they sped up DP or our teams that actually compete outside of Nascar land will be pretty screwed.

And there is a lot of rubbing in the DP. I've no issue with it since that's their race culture and the cars can take it pretty well.

But what happens when the LMP2's get knocked around?

Are they comparable in cost? Will the DP's just knock the LMP2's out of the way and dominate the season?

it will be interesting to see the relative performance on the same tires. I assume they're going to dumb down the P2s through BoP (downforce reductions?).

P2s can actually take a bit of a hit and be OK. Scott Tucker and DHH both played pinball with their cars last year without knocking them out of the race (or everyone in the Baltimore race )

from what I've heard DP and P2 are pretty damn close in cost, both acquisition and running. although I think the rules will be written in such a way that DPs have an advantage and over 2-3 years the class will be nothing but DP's

Personally, I watched ALMS for the GT cars, and WEC for the prototypes.

I really hope you are wrong. If I were an LMP2 owner/driver I'd want to drive the car that is identical to the rest of the WEC LMP2 class so I had all season to gather my data for the WEC races.

DP is U.S. only so making changes there effects no one on the larger motor sports stage.

DPs speed will improve with an open tire format - not sure that will be enough though. Was a decision made on tires for the new series?

I hope I'm wrong too but it's NASCAR's baby now and they have loyalty to the DP...

Will Dp's be allowed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans soon?
