Seems a 16 yr old won the race!
http://circuitoftheamericas.com/results/2012-gt3/ Sounds like a great race too! InCar anyone? http://www.9magazine.com/wp-content/...8t4065_2lr.jpg http://www.9magazine.com/wp-content/...8t4050_2LR.jpg |
Madison Snow is quite the young driver!! The next Patrick Long??? Only time will tell....
Here are some more photos http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03087.jpg http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03086.jpg http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03010.jpg the pit box we got to use http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03036.jpg http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03008.jpg http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/...k/DSC03003.jpg We finished P9 with Steve Miller in the #7 car after a hard fought race. First turn contact ripped the right side front pumper in half, lucky we didnt get the radiator!! Chris Pallis in the 23 car finished P20 and advanced his starting position by three spots and ran his fastest laps of the weekend!! Both guys had a blast!! |
Awesome!

Snow is not your average 16 year old. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he was born in a Porsche with his upbringing. Not to mention that his car comes off the trailer ready to go to the front.
|
Yes, his parents, Martin and Melanie, are legends within the POC and the Porsche Club Racing community as a whole. They are not exactly poor.....Madison has been well funded.

Is it true that Bernie banned in-car video in the Porsche race? Is there ANY video of the race, qualifying or practice?

InCar anyone? http://www.9magazine.com/wp-content/...8t4065_2lr.jpg you can see a chunk of front bumper off our #7 car, to the left of the 44 car, you can even see the TRG vinyl on it. In car video was banned, as it always is at the F1 support events. I wouldnt be suprised if some guys hid cameras on their cars....... Before we could unload our trailers Bernie had to do a flyover and give the thumbs up on the Paddock layout. |

The Porsche Asia cup race at Suzuka also had roof mounted cameras on a few cars.
|
I should have clarified, American support series are banned from having cameras.I have done a few F1 support races and this was always the case. I would assume that you would need to purchase some sort of video rights from Bernie, at a ridiculous figure i am sure.
Although I did hear someone say that the Ferrari Challenge series may have been allowed to have them. |
If the support series is televised then cameras are allowed for that purpose only. Other than that no personal cameras in or on the cars.

What would be the reason behind this ? This picture is from the Supercup event this year at the Monza F1 race, and the cars have the camera thing on the roof :
