I have Schroth Hans belts in my Boxster and they are excellent. BUT I also have $100 GForce belts in my 911 (solely used for the targa Newfoundland roughly every 2 years so maximum 2 1/2 weeks total usage between replacements) and they also seem fine. They both pass the same SFI tests so I'm guessing they will both do what is required when the **** hits the fan. I suspect it comes down to budget. If I had an unlimited budget I would probably go with Schroth simply because the buckles etc. are more elegant and the strapping seems finer but really (like all things safety) get the best you can afford.

Keep in mind, Gforce doesn't offer the 2" hans shoulder feature like Schroth.

Another vote for Schroth, but I will also add Sparco to the list. I have Schroth in one car, and Sparco in the other, and I think I may actually like the way the Sparco harness functions better.

I have Scroth now, I've had CROW in the past, I've been happy with both.

Absolutely true. Although. Not relevant for the Targa car as we don't wear a Hans during the race.

Love my Schroth. I use a Hans, but my Dad doesn't so just use the standard harnesses and they work fine with my Hans.

I hope I am misinterpreting your post. It sounds like you're saying use the Hans with standard 3 point belts. This does not work. Hans requires harnesses.
Just a helmet with standard 3 point belts.

I think he's saying that he uses 3 inch harnesses, rather than the 2 inch that are only meant to be used with a HANS.

The standard 3" 6 point harness from Schroth. Not the 3 pt stock seat belts.

Sorry for the confusion.

Perhaps a stupid question. But when the date expires on the Schroth belts can you replace just the belts and keep the hardware in order to save some $s or do you order it all again?

I use Schroth belts but have heard good things about Safecraft. I may give these a try next time http://www.safecraft.com/Mrestraints-harnesses.php

Contact Joe Marko at HMS (the US importer of SCHROTH products). If anyone knows the answer its him. I have always just replaced the old belts. Maybe im missing an opportunity so let us know.
