F1: Ecclestone Urges Lotus To Test Grosjean’s Vision
F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone has a suggestion for Romain Grosjean...
SPEED Staff / GMM | Posted October 11, 2012 GMM Newswire
Bernie Ecclestone has urged Lotus to organize a round of vision tests for Romain Grosjean.
Since returning to F1 as reigning GP2 champion this year, the French driver has been often praised for his pace but labelled a "first-lap nutcase" by Mark Webber following numerous early-race accidents.
He served an ultra-rare one-race ban at Monza but last weekend caused yet another incident at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix.
F1 chief executive Ecclestone thinks he could have a vision problem.
"Lotus should take him away and get all the tests done," he is quoted by The Times
"It seems to me that he is a very fast driver but seems to have trouble in seeing what is around him. A lot of what has happened to him this season has involved not being able to react to things happening in his peripheral vision.
"That could be the problem. If it was up to me, I would have him stand down for a Grand Prix, send him for every test and be sure that his eyesight was ok.
"It could be that simple," added Ecclestone.

Vettel - best car, best driver. It is about to get boring again as he dominates.
Grosjean is a good driver, Webber overslowed and cut across, he just can't catch a break.

Latest word from the Scuderia is that they are very happy with the car and have front running race pace, not the usual sandbagging...i.e. wind tunnel is junk, F2012 is a donkey cart, one Alonso away from HRT, Red Bull's checkbook is out Ferrari-ing Ferrari.
Hamilton further back than he should be.

Schumi off of his rocker again waving his hand...
Totally his own fault, Narain was all the way on the edge of the track, and Schumi had no need to go all the way out there, and then bitch about it?
Good thing he got a warning for it, totally deserved.
(Pete, not being a hater at all, even you have to admit that was stupid)

Hate to wish anyone to crash (Land Jet). There have been a couple of close calls where a few of the drivers could have lost their life. When you have the top drivers at the top, anything can happen. If Vettel takes Weber at the start it is all over. Hope to see some excitement tomorrow but not expecting it with Red Bull at the top.

Well done to Webber. Even with problems on Saturday morning he managed to grab pole. Pretty good for a driver that nobody rates around here.

Vettel P1 by the 1st corner unfortunately. Hammy into 2nd. Webber probably taken out by Alonso after he's launched into by Gro-Bro!

Sorry Patrick, but Webber is such a bad starter that I could probably rear end him at the start. It's too bad too as he seems like a great guy and would probably have been world champion if he could only figure out how to find the bite point as well as his competitors. (Conspiracy theory time - the team wants Vettel to win so they make small changes to Webber's car to make him uncompetitive with Sebastian at the start)

Well also, when was outside lane to T1 deemed and advantage. Pretty much as I said, Vettel shot through while Webber had to cover off both Hammy and Alonso. Not making excuses, perhaps Vettel from P1 wouldn't have lost T1 but almost seemed better being in P2.

4 to go and its a 2 horse race barring some massive upsets.
Hero to zero from Kobashi san taking both Button and Rosberg out; 1st lap turn 3.
Hammys car has an issue so hes out the championship Kimi slides into 3rd place........some good race action in the lower ranks.
well done Seb........would Webbo have won even with a good start? nope, great team player.
