Anybody have history on this car.

I saw this at the Rennsport Reunion last year, and wondered if anybody had any information about it. Truly stunning car.

The car is a 964 Carerra RSR 3.8. I suspect it is a 1994 possibly a 1993. Not sure of the history but I am know it was raced in Europe.
I am not sure if the car is in the Rennsport program, if so the program may have the vin number which would assist you in a search for the racing history. Hope that helps Mark |
Thanks. I was absolutely stunned at the perfect condition of the car. I didn't see it racing, just in the tent next to Jerry Sienfelds 917 (?).
I was wondering also what the extra lights were for. They look more like rally lights. |
The RSR would have been in my class at Rennsport, Group 5. I do not recall the car running but there were a lot of great cars in the class. The added headlights would have been for night racing, as with the regular headlights it was easy to "out drive" your lights.
It is a beautiful car and I am sure it has a rich history. Mark |
Larbre 964 RSR Joel Gouhier was the guy who raced my 964 cup for Larbre as well.
|
Larbre had several 964 RSR's which they ran. I believe Freisinger (sp) has one for sale in Germany.
Larry Schumacher campainged one here in the US as did several others. Great cars which are becoming very valuable. Your 964 Cup looks great Brant! Mark |
Thx Mark!

That's no rally car, it's sitting way too low.
Endurance car, no doubt. Jurgen Barth on the fender. |
Without seeing the vin it's hard to be sure, but it's painted like #6074 at the 1993 24 Hours of LeMans. 1993 911 RSR, 15th overall, 1st in GT '93 24 hours of LeMans. 8th overall, 1st in GT2 '94 24 hours
