First DE day yesterday

I am hooked. If anyone reading this was blocked at some point by #43 a blue C4S, I appologize. You may have been wondering why I was on the 'incorrect' side of the track. My instructor was wondering the same thing. I promise I will improve. Thanks for putting up with me. :)

Congrats on getting the first one in the books! I did my first in March. Have done 4 more since. Going to another w/e after next...I'm broke and happy!

Have fun with it:burnout:

That was YOU?

Seriously - if you are posting about the NCR DE event, welcome! We hope you had a great time :)

As well, I'll blame your instructor - or even the Chief Instructor - as I'm learning I get blamed for a lot without even knowing what I'm being blamed for??? ;)

My best to ya'

John D.

Yup, that was me! I cant blame my instructor, especially after coming back for another go round!

Don't worry about it! Welcome to the club!

John D. 08-07-2012 09:06 PM

Don't you give it a second thought!! :) Honestly - DE is "Driver Education"... And, yep, I'm proud of each and all the instructors at this event. They are a tremendous asset individually, personally and professionally.

I hope you are joining us at Lime Rock?!!

Best to you!

John

Don't worry about it. Everyone's got to start somewhere. Keep coming and you'll get steadily better.

jhg41977 08-07-2012 09:39 PM

I am on my way to the pca website to sign up for lime rock. So much fun!

jhg41977 08-07-2012 09:51 PM

All registered for Lime Rock! :) Any recomendations on where to stay?

jhg41977 - I was also at the NCR event at NHMS although our paths apparently didn't cross. Anyway, welcome to the world of DE and beware the slippery slope. I'm also going to Lime Rock next month and I'm staying at Interlaken Inn, which is about 5 minutes from the track. However, there is nothing cheap in Lakeville that I know of, so be prepared to shell out $$ for hotel, unless you want to book a place that's considerably further out.

John D. - Nice to see you at NHMS, too. I was one of the guys that asked you for an instructor from your "reserve" pool. You run a great show!!

John, I was in garage slot 10, obviously green group. Where were you?

Welcome to the club. you're not "hooked" yet. Last fall I did two events (VIR and Monticello). I then went and sold my 997TT, bought a dedicated track car, trailer, and tow vehicle. Now, THAT'S hooked LOL.

BTW, I haven't looked back once. Wish I could do more events but i'm having no regrets.

jhg41977 08-07-2012 10:39 PM

I dont think I could give up being able to drive on the street. A track car may be in the future. For now I will look for a trailer to get to events further away, just in case I break something.

Hmmm...I must have seen you or maybe even spoken to you without knowing who you were. I was in garage #22, on the opposite side of the same building as you. I was sharing the slot with a blue/red GT3 RS.
