Default Spring spacers for moving race cars

Looking for a quicker option than winding up the spring seats every time I have to use a truck or trailer without enough clearance.

I was going to just make some 2 inch wooden blocks to slip in above the springs whenever I need to move it, but does anyone know if there is a readily available commercial product for that?

A lot of formula car guys will have a special set of "trailer wheels" that have tires several inches larger in diameter than their race wheels. I'm not sure that idea will work as well with fenders though...

Dan that sounds interesting and feasible. Can you elaborate a little as to size and material. Perhaps even a photo?...

Thanks....

I've got these spring spacers on my car:

You could easily make spacers for transport by just cutting a slot in them to clear the shock shaft. If 2" is enough clearance then $25 each and some quality time with a saw is all it would take.

Wait, so you're going to jack the car and shove these things on the coilovers and that will raise the car up for clearance? (I'm just a little thick)

That's exactly the idea. Jack up a corner, slip in a spacer and raise the height enough for clearing a ramp into the trailer. Remove the spacer when the car's unloaded and you're back to the same original suspension settings. I've heard of people using hockey pucks for this purpose as well.

Hockey pucks are in short supply in Australia

Porsche actually had a setup like this for shipping the 996's and others. It took me awhile to pull up the bulletin for when performing PDI's but I did find it.

Interesting. Stopping the shock from compressing is another effective way of doing it, although I imagine getting them in and out of the spring would be a nuisance.

On the stock shocks it was easy, although with the 60mm or 2.5" ones I am guessing you have it may be harder. But the concept is the same and the pictures explain it well. It wouldn't be hard to have a insert made to go on top of the spring if you have that much free travel in it. I'm guessing each application may be a little different depending on everyone's set up.
I like the Genesis adapters as well and just cutting those, although rubber might be more compliant. The circle track guys have plenty or rubber and urethane options available to modify into the perfect part. Either way it's the basic concept.
