The Grand Am Audi R8 is a V10 but it runs 42mm restrictors bringing it down to approx 475hp.
All of the aero from the GT1/GT3 cars has been removed including the wing, splitter and diffuser so the GA version is not nearly as capable as the LMS version run in Europe. GA does not allow ABS or TC and those were removed for GA.
Same for the R8 run in World Challenge. In that series we can run more splitter, a larger wing and the diffusor but we too have to run the 42mm restrictors in addition to running at the mandated 3" ride height for WC GT Class. But WC does allow ABS and TC.
Lastly, the GA version is a completely new car that was built specifically for the series with new roll cage requirements and was built exclusively for Rolex GT competition.

Porsche has taken a beating on rules changes / limitations in the last few years. Continental series is different. But in Rolex enough is enough.
Talk about frustration: Kevin Buckler's comment during the 6 hour at WGI - "gentleman drivers in other cars out pulling them is just sick".
And Sorry - But tube frame cars with fake skins against real factory built cars is just wrong. This isn't Nascar.
