Laguna Seca (4-28-2012) Schedule
Does any one here know the event schedule for the PCA Club Race at Laguna Seca for Saturday April 28th? Could you post the times the P-cars run that would be great.
Thanks,
Scott

I think Mike won pretty easily. boring race for him, cept for his lapping traffic action!
He also won our race against the superproduction cars, and i have some great video when he got through our clump of cars . we had some great racing in ITE/AV8SS, unlike any other group that raced. a ton of position changes , lots of traffic and close calls and racing!
Did you make it out there, i didnt see your car JR! ???

Sorry to hear! I was looking and asking around for ya!
I pulled it off by doing a short weekend. Did one race on sunday, with qual. IT turns out the first race on saturday, was littered with crashes and dumb dumbs, so that was a good thing that i didnt make the full weekend. Had a great race on sunday, but if i had run with PCA, I would have done to run with you. (and paid for the PCA license and membership renewals) but, no time to get the real slicks on either, so i had to DOT-it with ITE and AV8SS. next time we'll see you out there.
Ill try and make a cal speedway race this summer, so let me know when you are running next. you can show me the ropes down there!

We had great fun racing (PCA race group). Gary Willard, Dan Burnham and I finished within 1 second of each other both days. (We missed you John) I managed to beat Gary for only the second time in 2 years on Saturday, but could not get him Sunday.

You were missed. I have video of my Sunday race with Gary and Dan from 2 views:
and here
I had one shot at passing Gary in Lap 2 but could not make it and then he never makes a big enough mistake for me to capitalize on. As you can see our GTL cars are very equally matched in power and grip. Dan has a bit more power than us (but also maore weight) and it wasn't enough to make it easy for him to make a high percentage pass. You see him in my mirror at 11 and 2 and the corkscrew.

Captivating video to watch, I too kept looking for that opportunity that never came. He seemd faster ont he high speed sweepers like T4 and T9, while you always caught back up in T2 with your double apex line which was much faster than his single apex line. When he locked up his inside rear there I thought you might get a shot but he always powered away thru 3 & 4. You both drove well and ran great lines. I would love for you to try short shifting to 4th in both T4 and T9. I think there's more entry speed there to be carried thru. My Skippy instructor swears those 2 turns make your lap....
Really fun to watch, I'd loved to have been there....

I agree. I haven't driven LS in years and never without the power-sapping muffler. Looking at the data, I think I have room to improve most on T4 and T10 (and the entry to T9).

John: What must a poor outcast northerner with PCA and NASA licenses do do race with the southern belles from POC? (I'm considering it, but not thrilled with having to use the power-sapping muffler.)

Fantastic videos Tom -- See you out there again soon!
I talked for a few minutes with Jesse on Sunday and he mentioned POC as well. I'd be interested to know what it'd take to run with them too..
