I was thinking about joining and wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with these guys? Pricing seems to be good, and it is local to me.

I know several people that run with Laps at Autobahn each year. I have never heard anything negative, but I have not personally run with them. You should consider coming out with the PCA, as well. I am very active with the Chicago Region PCA.

I participated in Laps events for three years and they were well run, safe yet fun. Shawn Young runs a great program that includes the Autobahn as well as Road America and other area tracks. More track time than PCA, however you tech your own car. Lunch is included in the fee. Shawn will make sure you are in the right run group and also has instructors to help you progress. Lots of variety in cars on track including Corvettes, Lotus, Porsches, and even the occasional Lambo and Ferrari. Lots of the guys also have spec Miatas and they run mini races for them too. I highly recommend Laps.

I have run with LAPs a couple of times in the past, and have friends that run with them regularly. But like Tedster stated Shawn runs a pretty good program, provides instructors if needed, very relaxed group.

I prefer PCA Chicago but I know some of the guys over at LAPS, they are good bunch. Run with LAPS if they fit your schedule.

I've been running with LAPS for 4 or 5 years, in addition to racing, etc. LAPS is a great group to drive with, the events are very well run, instructors if you need them, and lots of track time. Everyone becomes friends, we generally go out after every event to a restaurant to have a few drinks and talk abou the day. It's a great time.
