Oh boy...those discontinued RA1's that some have stashed in the garage are like gold to people on this forum.

If you can't find them....trust me....go get some Toyo R888. The R888 is not as bad as people on this forum claim. However since you trailer the car to the track I'd go straight to the Hoosier R6 drug of choice. Remember you will have to get your car set up for Hoosiers and for RA1 or R888 for that matter since you are coming from street tires.

Did you get some track wheels?

All the best and see you at the track soon I hope.

Default Wheelz

Yes, picked up a set of black anodized C10s just like yours yesterday from John at CCW in Daytona. They're mounted with a set of Toyo Ra1s. I also got an extra pair of fronts...but I'm looking for a set of rears to go with them.

I was surprised at how non-aggressive the tread pattern looked on the Ra1s. My Bridgestone Re-11s have a much more aggressive pattern. But I just realized that the Bridgestones have a 180 treadwear, and the Toyos are 100, which explains why they're stickier.

I'm doing the 48 Hours at Sebring, and the DE at Sebring three weeks later, then off to Barber for the March event. Got my new Trailex trailer all set up, too.

Nitto NT 01's do not have front size to go with 315/30/18 rear sizes for a 997. ABS will not work correctly if rear tire is same to smaller diameter than front.

I have two new RA1s in the 305/35/18s and two lightly used at 5/32s currently. If interested let me know.

New ones are sold but the shaved are likely still available.

Guys, you need to grab these. I am set for the season but I think after 2012, they will be truly gone.
