A friends GT3RS broke at Winterfest Sebring last week, he tried to get his street wheels shipped down for the Panamera Turbo to finish the weekend, but it could not be done. Would have been fun though..

Porsche Design will likely soon offer one for $995.00, color matched to your interior.

That's the biggest variable right there.

I've beaten Carrera GT and 997 GT3 Cup with my 993 C2 at Sebring (and I'm not even that fast, imagine what a real drover can do).

Does that mean 993 C2 is faster than Carrera GT or 997 GT3 Cup?

Didn't think so.

Figured someone familiar with VIR would assume Grand Course. I would like to see the numbers for the full course since that seems to be most familiar.

They nicknamed it the bus and yes it's faster than the 997.1 RS but which one would you rather drive? However if you're getting paid to run the fastest lap the bus would rule and clearly by these sensitive reactions the bus has touched off some nerves

PS Just as remarkable was the X5 and the Boss

So, it is not as fast as an '09 GT3 but it is about as fast as a '99 GT3.

Impressive. Very impressive.

The Panamera Turbo S is even faster than the Turbo, still on street tires, not the cheater 2007+ GT3 tires. Put the Panamera Turbo S on MPSC tires, and it would easily break into the 7:40s at the Ring, which is a respectful fast time.

So, on track tires a Panamera Turbo S can run with the fast sport cars out there.

Fortunately, it is ugly, so depreciation would be drastic. I want a Panamera Turbo S as my next tow vehicle, but won't pay more than $50k for ugly.

This thread is reminiscent of the times when the Nissan GTR was being launched. Most of us were naysayers that its performance could be on par with Porsche sports cars.

That being said, the GTR is almost as attractive as a Panamera.

When I first heard it mentioned years ago, I thought it was a joke, but I am no longer sure.
Porsche will no longer be remembered for the 911, but rather the Panamera and Cayenne

There has got to be a special corner of hell reserved for Dr. Weideking.
