Default New Endurance Car

I partnered with a friend to urchase and run an endurance car. We picked up this M3 last week. All of the work was completed by Turner Motorsport over the last few years. Stoptech rotors and calipers all four corners, Turner cage, Racepak IQ3, Turner bushings and ties, aluminum A arms, bilsteins, Turner motorsport head, 6 speed trans, short shift, 4 sets of wheels, etc. etc. etc.

By the way both of our sprint cars are Porsche.

How many penalty laps will you get in ChumpCar

I'm sure as you lap us -- we'll help you with rolling fenders and eliminating excessive downforce components :-)

Good Luck with the car.

A lot of Chump folks run the 325 series -- keep the oil cool!

mike

In case it wasn't obvious -- I'm joking about running Chumps :-)
Nice build -- have fun with it.

Nice Purchase. Look nicely set-up. You'll love running it. Since I got my M3 the GT3 doesn't see much (any) track time..

This is a 1995 3.0. With the Turner head and other mods we expect to dyno around 260. To get more track time and learn the endurance game we thought this would be a good way to expand and extend our season. This car has an aftermarket oil cooler mounted below the radiator. Another weak spot on these cars are the diff's, we will add an additional cooler and duct in some air.

Who told you the diff is a weak spot? If anything, its the opposite. With a larger cover they are fine, for true enduro use a pump and cooler is recommended.

The oiling system needs help, S54 oil pan and pump is the only solution.

We will definitely spend some time together Raptorman, I enjoyed our meeting at Mid O and looking forward to working together. You know better than anyone how my last season was cut short. I thought this would be the best way to increase my seat time in a competitive environment.

As to the diff, my comments are on point for endurance racing. As you stated, and we plan to add, a seperate remote cooler. We currently have a 3.73 Diff's on Line with the finned bottom. My information comes from teams that ran the car successfully in Koni, which is of course, endurance racing. They changed their diff after every race weekend. I plan on reviewing that very subject with them on Friday at PRI.

Dave,

Are you sure you're not recording an L 10-11 jet during the Barber section of your video?

Wow that seems unbearably loud. Good thing we are typing and reading...eh?

Not to drag this thread off topic, but where do those white tire carts come from? I would love to have one of those!

Some of my favorite shop toys, purchased used but available from various pit equipment suppliers. They have a fold T handle/spherical hitch for pit karts. Depending on the size of tire, I can put up to 16 tires on each.
