Just because thievery is rampant DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT!!
Scum are scum, and the apathy I see about putting up with them because it's common is ludicrous.
How would you like it if he ripped off your grandparents?
It also makes our sport look really bad, can end up turning away sponsors from good guys. Remember when so many IMSA teams were running on drug money?

If someone lost money on a legal loan transaction then all is fair (making a bad decision b/c you are ignorant or desperate does not excuse you taking the loan). However most of these loans sold by Tucker's business are illegal as defined by the various state laws - which he continually pushes his business to still break those laws by now using Indian tribes to be the front of the operation (who are still granted immunity from state and certain federal laws) and all the processing of the loans goes on in Overland Park, KS where his base of operations are.

n the meantime, Tucker participated in a bogus loan scheme to bilk money out of businesses, court records reveal. While a partner in Oregon ran newspaper and magazine ads throughout the country offering commercial loans, Tucker posed as the president of a seemingly high-powered investment bank in Overland Park called Chase, Morgan, Stearns & Lloyd. The operation was a fraud, collecting more than $100,000 in “advance fees” from at least 15 borrowers without providing any loans.

How is it in any way relevant to racing?
Will I buy his wine? No. Do I buy stuff from TRG? No. But yo ucannot deny he has real driving talent & a helluva head for legit business, too.
As others have said, if we're gonna go and get all self righteous and high and mighty abotu people's professions in racing, there would be very few races.

I was racing in that event at La Junta Colorado in 2009 mentioned in the article. The race course is on the municipal airport. It was an SCCA double national in a very small town and Tucker had his private jet parked just across a fence line from the paddock area. He left in the jet immediately after the race on Saturday and did not return until just before the race on Sunday missing qualifying. He then left immediately after Sunday's race as well. We all thought he was some rich VIP who was too good to stay with the rest of us racers. Now I know "the rest of the story".

Not good, don't approve, but it could be worse. I mean, just look at John Paul...dude's out there somewhere sailing the oceans, dumping women overboard, wheelin' and dealin'. He was a pretty good driver too......maybe we should find him and have the two race!

On a racing note it was really funny when ST won the 2011 national championship in STO the interviewer basically said something to the effect, "Now that you have some time in professional racing how is it to come down to the amateurs and take a title?" The look on ST's face was classic. The guy spends a zillion dollars on his STO effort only to be slapped around by a low budget "tow your own car sleep in cheap motel" barely able to afford brake pads and tires guy who nearly beat him hounding ST all the way to the checker. ST's name may be on the trophy but in my mind Dave Pintaric is the STO national champion.
