I was driving a tractor when I was too small to reach the clutch - had to stand up to shift. And I can double clutch

I wish someone gave me that advice.
May need to do that before I make a final decision - thanks for the tip And if you meet any Westerberg's over there, tell them I said Hi!

Great advice, but I like to 'know' my car and I thought if I purchased it, I could use it to get my license in.

Good for you - go for it. We've got 2 kids and they are now teens, so hauling them around is a lot easier (and fun!). My son is dying to drive. My daughter "tolerates" the weekends camping at the track, but sure enjoys sharing the stories with her friends. Pretty soon she's gonna figure out how many other father's son's are there

I've been DE'ing for a while now and hubby has a Lemons car. We figure I can do some stints in that and it'll either "kill me or cure me".

Either could prove to be expensive for the family

There is no dress rehearsal for life...

Keep in mind that the purchase price of the race car is only a portion of the cost of racing. Consumables and repairs can and will be significant. You can't judge the cost of racing only on the cost of entry.
