Alright, I experimented with this last night, and I could see the previous league and how it was setup. Looks like the times in the past started at 7:00PM CST (I believe) however, the first 1.5 hours or so were open practice followed by the 25min race. Actually costs money to run each of these, even though its really small bits ($1 or $2 per race, no biggie). I only say that as how you scale the race and the time allotted to each part actually adjusts the fee associated. Again, no one send me money for this, just means I'm going to propose choices that fit within 2 hours or so of "Event" each Wednesday and the times are chosen on purpose.

I think 7:00 CST seems a bit early to start considering many of you are probably on the West Coast. My suggestion for the weekly schedule will be as follows:

All times are listed in reference to CST (-6 GMT)

8:00PM Open Practice Begins
8:45PM Qualifying Begins
9:00 - 9:30PM RACE! (30min race)

I hope this is accommodating to most everyone. This would be a 7:00PM race in California, and a 10:00PM race in Florida. I think its the way the Super Bowl does it. I'm open to suggestion and we can make changes. This will be the way I set it up for this upcoming Wednesday. If a group of you wants another race at another time, I'm perfectly happy to get that lined up.

Makes sense to me to choose the same track that iRacing is choosing for the week for the IMSA series, as that way any "practice" we get racing in the iRacing series will translate to the Rennlist race, and vise versa. This week, that would be Watkins Glenn International for the track. If we want to have a steady track as well, for those without a lot of time to learn many tracks, we could have back to back races each week with a consistent track during the second race (always Sebring, or something). Let me know thoughts on that.

Car will be the 911 RSR, I agree its a bit more forgiving, but mostly, I think it can be adjusted to work for more skill levels better.

For those of you who are not part of the league, continue to PM me your IRacing name and I'll get you invited to the league.

Thanks and see you all Wednesday night!

(edited) The first session is now created on iRacing, so you can go check it out and make sure you see it there. I'm going to keep with the Oval Points that they were using last time, that gives most people the chance at getting some points, and makes it so one person doesn't run away with most of them after just a couple of races. Perhaps I'll get a traveling trophy put together...

(now to just figure out how to add an additional 100HP to only my RSR, you would think for a little extra $$$...)

P.S. I chose to limit to 24 racers per server (so things don't get too crowded). I'm hoping this means that if 48 of you join the race, we will have two concurrent races with half of us in each one at the same time. I hope it does not mean that we are limited to only 24 people joining the race. I'll carefully watch that at race time and make adjustments to it if need be.

Sounds good. I like the IMSA pairing with some standards that everyone is familiar with.

I wouldn't set any limit on the off chance that you get more than 24 drivers. Hey... it's happened before!

I think the limit also applies to the lifetime of the session. So if you set it to 24, and 10 people join for the first hour of practice then quit, there's only 14 slots available for the race, even if the 10 that left never come back.

I like everything but the times. Almost need 2 races, as east and west coast will never see eye to eye on times. 10PM is usually too late for me to start a race. I'll try to jump on but don't fault me if I fall asleep going in to T1 !

From what I remember, an overwhelming majority of our participants in the past were from the eastern half of the country.

Seems like more east-coasters here than anywhere else. I'm going to go back to the time the iRacing schedule had in the past. seems like that actually made more sense. So the open practice will start at 8:00PM EST and the Race will start at 9:00PM EST. Going to do that for tonight at least and see how it turns out. See you later!

All times are listed in reference to CST

7:00PM Open Practice Begins
7:45PM Qualifying Begins
8:00 - 8:30PM RACE! (30min race)

Ok, first go round of the re-opening of the league was sort of successful. It did work as expected, but only 3 of us had time to get on it. If the time is still tough for a lot of you let me know and we can push it earlier. Next week hopefully more of you can come give it a go, and don't forget to use mics, its more fun to be able to chat. I'll be making a couple of adjustments to the settings, but not much.

cheers!

I won't be able to make the first few weeks due to work schedule, but am looking forward to this. I love the cup car but am happy to drive the RSR too.

Thanks again for setting this up.

I bought and test drove the RSR yesterday, in anticipation of being able to join you guys occasionally...so much better than the Cup. Between my lack of sim experience/skills, and my ‘stock’ brake pedal, I find the Cup to be unbearable to drive. I can usually make it a few corners before spinning off track and turning the car into a virtual heap of scrap metal

Phil if you want to borrow my fanatec pedals you're welcome to stop by and grab them, they're the load cell version.

I think this may actually be my biggest problem from getting better. I don’t think I can manage the brakes well enough with my Logitech pedals. I have a good seat setup but really need a better wheel and pedals.
