Nurb GP seems to be the exception so far. I run everything on medium with the shaders on high 4x AA and AF and it keeps a consistent 90fps.
Hopefully the Khronos group VR standards will become a thing that everyone adheres to and there won't be any differences on the software end, but the hardware manufacturers will have to compete on features.
What are your shadow settings and mirrors? Nurb GP has a lot of grandstands that in turn have a lot of crowds that in turn have a lot of shadows that show up in the distance. It's a lot of draw calls.
If you haven't already turned off shadow volumes completely off, turn them off completely. They're extremely taxing on the CPU because they have to sort the entire scene multiple times per frame.
If you turn off maps on dynamic objects should see an immediate difference as well.
Make sure mirrors are at the lowest settings and disable as many as you can. Every mirror draws the entire scene.
Was only Kevin, Derby and I last night. Tight qualifying - 0.2 between pole and P3.
We got a little spread out at first, then Derby spun on his own and seemed to retire. I hung around in the lead for a bit, noticing that Kevin's delta back to me was static over many laps... so I slowed up, waited for him, then tucked in behind. Wound up having a really fun battle for the last few laps - we were pretty well dead even.
