Last nights practice session was fun. Wish i could have stayed longer. This is going to be a difficult race. I crashed on two of my out laps... I need to dial it back a bit and stay focused.

At any rate, I could definitely be wrong. I was stuck in the 7's with my setup I developed previously. Switched back to the default set, pulled brake bias back to 46, adjusted tire pressures a little, I think I had to add a click of rear ride height after letting some air out.
After that I got below 7:00. Eventually managed a clean 6:55.9. My optimum is still a few ticks off of Hamilton's ACTUAL time (hey who invited that guy into our group anyways?) but it's tough to string together an optimum lap on such a long course!

Drifting
The ring is just hanging on and making the corners for me. I'm not at the point where I can look for speed. The trick with this car as I'm learning is to never overspeed entry. There is negligible speed to find there compared to corner exit.
I turned a few laps at Laguna last night and was 3 seconds off the pace and I was pushing HARD. Got frustrated and decided to go back to basics. Slowed my entry, made sure to get on the throttle earlier for exit and started knocking out purple sectors every lap. As soon as I started looking for speed on entry, I lost at least a couple tenths per sector.

I don't think the GT3 Cup changed with the latest update? A lot of the other cars got the tire model they developed for it.

Afternoon, I just wanted to introduce myself so I can hopefully race with y'all. I'm Mike, and I've been racing with Jim and Justin in the Daytona 24h and Sebring 12h. I'm not terribly fast, but I am looking to have fun.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hell, tried it for 20 min tonight and I finished every lap but with a bent car. Unless I get a couple of hours in tomorrow, I figure I should just learn to drive it with a bent car.

Official session starts at 8:15 EDT, there's a solid hour? or so of open practice, I think we do 15 mins of qualifying, then a 25 min race.
I won't be home until close to 7:15 central, will need to eat first and spend some time with the wife... but will be on before qualifying.
