Rennlist iRacing thread

My biggest incident was one of the vocal BMW drivers with a barely recognizable car that cut across the pit exit line as I was coming out of the pits and dragged his car along the side of ours. That's what caused the damage before you got in Jim. It slowed the car down a bit, but worse was I had to drive the car with the front right fender crumpled so I couldn't see the apexes of the right handers.
I still marvel at the amount of cars on track at the same time. It's so rare to get a lap that doesn't involve making a pass on another car. I can't wait for time of day changes. That would add so much to a 24 hour race. Now it's like racing in the arctic when the sun never rises.
We should get a Rennlist team together if there's an endurance race with the Porsche.

And yes - all the passing and action is what I love about endurance racing. The field gets jumbled up and there's always action. Rarely do you get a fully "clean" lap.

I set up the Barber session for Wednesday.
Last night I took the C7 prototype for some laps at Limerock with the IMSA cars. Hilarious! 46 second lap times makes it a super busy lap... then trying to work my way past GT3 cars and Ruf Cup cars is nutty. I can't believe they race there.

Yes, last years PCA club race was my first time racing at Lime Rock. Even with thirty some cars in a group it was the most intense racing I've had since I quit motocross racing thirty years ago.

Damn, gonna miss next week too. I'll set up the race at Daytona though. I'll be on tonight to find some open sessions to try out the car in.
Reminder: Porsche cup car is the new league car.

That Cup car is INTENSE! Awesome but intense. Takes a lot of WORK to drive quickly and consistenly.
I predict our league races are gonna be a disaster for a few weeks until everybody gets used to the car.
Here's a lap from earlier today @ Sebring. Was stuck FIGHTING for mid 2:09s, then suddenly, it just clicked and I knocked a second off. Set cold pressures around 20, hot pressures around 24, bias down around 44 to start. Should get you close. And be VERY gentle on the brakes. Can't STOMP like you can the Ruf Track - NO ABS!

Need to get some comparison times between the real deal and the iRacing.
Road America, Daytona, etc. Somebody wanna run some Daytona laps so we can see how they stack up to the Carrera Cup race this weekend?

I jumped in a session at Daytona night. Still learning the car, but it felt pretty good after some setup tweaking. Way less front brakes made a big difference. Ended up running a 1:46.07 (no draft) which I think was a pretty good lap time based on the Aliens in the session.
