James "Jim" Clark

On April 7, 1968, his Lotus had a tire failure in a F2 race at Hockenheim in Germany and perhaps the greatest F1 driver of all time was killed..

An ominous day in motorsport history. Much like the days Bruce McLaren, Mark Donohue, and Senna died, nobody could believe that anyone with that much talent could die behind the wheel.
