well, there is always a next season for that. so far this thread was pretty great with good list of multiple options and it is quite obvious what most people do prefer.

Somebody's peeing on your feet and telling you it's raining. I see PFC97's for the front of a 997 for $242.

I just switched from stock pads to PFC's 01 and really like the intial bite, they squeal maybe the last 25 - 30 feet on the street when stopping but hey when everybody looks over I just wave "Make Friends"

I've run Hawk Blues, Porterfield R-4S, PFC 97s and KPF Magnum (?) pads over the years. I've never NOT had one of them squeak when being used on the street under regular driving use, moreso under very light pedal application than under heavier street stopping. All have worked well at the track. The PFC97, I've had at AX events and folks have called me "sparky".. maybe they are not an ideal AX pad under my driving style when cold, but from in the car they felt great!

OGracing and Apex Performance both sell them at a good price. Both are good people, and both are Rennlist sponsors.

LMFAO!! Why compromise with the 97's? PFC01's or 06's all the way

If he's going to drive on the street and the track, the 97's might be a better option. Otherwise I agree with you that the 01's or 06's are a better track pad.

Yeah, you're right....I forgot the street/track combination.

No time to read 3 pages. There's no such thing as a quiet track pad, period. Get used to spending 30-45 minutes before and after every event to swap out. Street pads for the street, track pads for the track. I've tried them all with my 997.1 and then 997.2 C2S. PFC, Pagid 4-2-1, 4-2, Oranges, Blacks, and Yellows. The ONLY time I didn't squeal like a pig on the street was right after a track event with Oranges and that's because they glazed up the rotors. But after 2 weeks of street use, the compound was off the rotor and back to squealing like a school bus.

997 is too heavy for Oranges - too much heat. Sport Pads / Blue - same thing. Blacks, Yellows, and PFC 97s (Farnbacher Loles swore by the 97 as THE PFC pad for the 997) are all great pads for the track. Best combination on the 997.1 C2S was probably Blacks in back, Yellows up front (evened out the bias a bit). Best for 997.2 C2S is Yellow 29s all around.

RonCT is correct but I am useing RS29 Yellow up front and RS14 Black in the rear to even up bias some. I swap back to street pads...take only an extra minute to swap pads when swapping wheels...very easy to do.

Also....what is the thought on NOT getting Pagid or other race pads wet? I've read/heard NOT to get race pads wet.

Well Mike, here in New England it's probably a 60/40 proposition that it's going to rain, so my pads are getting soaked quite often (as are everyone elses). We end up with a nice pad-shaped rust pattern on the rotor that goes away after a while. Never had any caustic issues.

Thanks Ron.....sometimes I have track weekends back to back and I want to wash the car and wheels without having to swap to streets.

I also surfed the Internet for some Endless ME 20 pads for my car....WOW $599 for the fronts....I'll stick with $300 Pagid RS29 Yellows

Only problem I ever had with getting race pads wet was with the PF-97 on BMWs.

For whatever reason, the dust that came off of them would embed itself in the paint of the wheel (and sometimes the car) and chemically react when wet. It looked like your painted wheels were old rusty steel wheels. A wire brush would not take it off. I also saw beautiful new cars where the entire side of the car had an embedded rust stain.

I have not had this problem with any other pad other than the old PF-97s. PF-01, PF-06, Pagid Orange, Pagid Black are all fine when wet...

I have received those EBC Yellow Stuff Brake Pads , SKU 2351775 , Part # DP41514R .

It did cost me $109 shipped for front set. Visually they look OK, at install it was very odd to find that apparently those front pads are made to take pads pressure springs from real calipers as no way in hell normal front pressure springs would fit on those pads. but i had a spare rear caliper repair set so it was no problem.

pads come with red pre-bedding surface, as I started driving they did not make a sound at all, i took car on a highway, did about of a dozen 80-45 cycles, rotors were practically new before that and got surface to look almost like mirrors now after bedding, so far squeak at slow stops is pretty minimal with no squeak at all at normal rate (not threshold like with rs29) braking.

How it will be later I cannot tell, it will be clear only after first DE as more material will come off rotors and pads. tires were new dunlop star specs, in normal conditions stock pads would fade from i was doing - those did not fade, initial bite is a bit (or may be more than a bit) less than with rs29 in front but way better than with stock pads. for now I kept those EBCs in front with rs29 in rear, will see after April`s event how it will work out.

so, for what it`s worth that`s the story so far.
