Nitto NT01 - Camber and PSI Question
Hi there,
I did search the threads looking for information and found a bunch, but I still have some questions.
Is anyone running with a fairly light car (2300#), and if so, what tire pressures are they using as well as camber. I have a 1976 911 DE car running on 17" wheels. According to Nitto they suggest the following:
That is a pretty wide range, so I am curious about other setups. This is my first foray into R-compound tires.
Thanks
Nick

- Camber: -2.5 to -5.0
- Hot inflation pressures: high 30's to low 40's
- Operating temperatures: 140F - 220F
- Optimum tire temperature: 200F
- Caster: as much positive as possible
That is a pretty wide range, so I am curious about other setups. This is my first foray into R-compound tires.
Thanks
Nick

The NT01 is imo the best DE tire out there. I run them on an 89 3.2 and they like lower pressure, around 32 hot. Camber is as much as I can get front and rear (about 2 in the front, close to 4 in the rear. Some guys run even lower pressure on lighter cars. I put over 25 heat cycles on the last set and the last cycles were the fastest. I am so glad michlein discontinued 17" PSC tires, saved me a bunch of money switching to Nitto and after 1 season I like the NT01 better.

Hi Nick,
I have a '78 911 @ 2300lbs dry on 17's. Here's what I run mine at:
PSI
-Cold F30/R32
-Hot F35/R38
Camber
F -3.2
R -2.4
Toe
F 1/32"
R 3/32"
Temps rarely go above 160 iirc, but that will be depending on a combination of factors including the tracks you run. We found ourselves wanting to run less pressure but our local tire guy (Lynn from Topless Performance) encouraged keeping them up due to the softer carcass.
Hope that helps.

He has done some good work for me. He did the LSD, shortened 3, 4, and 5, and installed boxster brakes in the front. New car this year!

Old thread, but I've been experimenting with the nittos as of late. Hoosier prices were killing me.
Anyway, I found that -2.5 front 0 toe and -2 rear 4mm total toe worked pretty well.
Ended up with rear temp from inside to out 175-170 and front inside to out 155-150.
Hot temps 36 front 38 rear.
Even wear, good grip. Temps were surprisingly low considering this was at Sebring with 85 ambient temps.
