Let me note that the car was set up meticulously so there is no way it could be a mechanical in any way.

( it was my car for anyone who doesn't know )

Possible, but I don't think I shifted at all. The spin starts as soon as my hand goes to shift. Hand comes back up to the wheel. It happened real fast. I may have exacerbated the situation once it started.

That's why I want vid from behind.

And yet I hear the blip aftet the car begins to rotate...

EDIT: although this could be the sound of another car blipping, too

Watch the slo mo, the tach never blips. That's why I don't think I got the chance to shift.

I'm a victim I tell ya!

All kidding aside, input is welcome. A different angle could really help me determine what happened. Last thing I want to do is screw up someone else's weekend (which I did and 877 was an absolute prince about it).

Actually, the tach does move. Watch 0:03, 0:13, and 0:43 on the 2nd video. Not sure if that means anything, but the tach goes quickly to zero, then blips back up again breifly.

Is the data synced with the video? Assume you were on the brakes and seems like one rear wheel may have locked up as it appears (I can't really see) the steering wheel was still straight. Data and video from behind should tell the story. Did you miss the white car that flew by in front of you?

I think you would have to be shifting into 2nd gear to chirp my tires as slow as you were going and you definitely were't going down to 2nd. From where you are on the track I would have been shifting into 2nd deeper in the brake zone so I assume that is where you were shifting.

Did we check the back to see if you were tapped ? Never thought to look.

Slo mo looks like your hand is just about to grab the wheel (after shifting) when the spin begins.

I'm thinking there might be someone out there with a patch of red paint on their front bumper.

90% sure that you double braked or got progressively harder on the brakes. If the former, upon second brake application, you were no longer going fast enough for the brake pressure you applied and it resulted in lock-up of the rear. If the latter, pretty much similar explanation. It's pretty easy to get our cars to do this in the brake zone of 7. Do you have a brake pressure sensor installed on the car? Would be real telling.

You could have also been gently tapped in the rear, but the video doesn't provide any visual or audio evidence of it.

I was early on the brakes as I had only about 5 laps on the track before that point in time. It may have caught someone by surprise who may have expected me to go deeper.

Or it was aliens.

The reason I don't think it was a shift issue is because I am supremely talented and it was too early in the brake zone to shift. My hand goes down ready to shift, no blip, spin starts, hand comes up. It happened as soon as I hit the brakes not closer to the corner. Heck, I never made it to the corner.

I'm not good enough at looking at the data (not synced to video) to verify what the engine was doing. I know a guy who can. Good suggestion. I can pinpoint that brake zone and see if I blipped. If I did I did, I'll buy a PDK car . . .

Someone send me vid or post. Don't post if it's embarrassing or indicative of a lack of talent
