Default Any Porsche track junkies in Charlotte area?

I'm new to the Porsche circle and thought I'd find out who's around here. Maybe get some recommendations in case I need a good shop or get parts locally, plus make some new friends at the track.

I've primarily run BMWs on track, started out with an E36 M3. Now I run a Spec E30 car with NASA MA and SE, plus DE a Z06 Corvette (until it got sold in favor or the Porsche). I instruct with NASA, PCA, Chin, etc.

See you all at the track!

What kind of car did you get?

Eurowerks is is the defacto shop around here, they used to be in stallings, but have move a little further out to Monroe, still worth the trip.

Welcome to the world of Porsches. They aren't as fast as your Spec E30 but close. ;-)

Or PRO3...

To the OP, I am in the CLT area and have a medium-term goal of racing Spec E30 here in the SE (PRO3 is PacNW only...) Send a private message along if you'd like to connect sometime.

I am in Marvin just outside of Charlotte.

Don't do DEs anymore but try to show up at a few club races.

I also recently moved to the area, but have not done any track events in the area yet. I'm planning on participating in some PCA DE's here in 2011.

Yep, lots of us track junkies in Charlotte.
Though at the moment, I think jscott82's garage is getting to be a pretty good Porsche shop

Where in Charlotte are you? and...more importantly...what Porsche are you now driving?

Hey guys, this is awesome. Good to see so many Junkies!

I picked up a 996 GT3 with some DE prep. It's getting shipped from the West Coast, hoping it gets here next week.

Seth - now, I've seen you in a certain Spec E30 at RA, so I know that you know how much fun they are. Granted they are slow compare to these things, but boy, dollar for dollar they are great!

Brian - I won't hold it against you, since I know how fast you are in a BMW.

I'm actually in Huntersville, just a little north.

I just moved down to Charlotte in August from Boston, where I did PCA DE's for a few years. The group down here is great. Wonderful people and very active in the PCA (reminds me of the groups I ran with in Tremblant). Did my first DE here at VIR in the Fall. What a great track and a huge turnout.

I had my car DE inspected at Eurowerks - great people, though a bit south (I live in the Myers Park area).

Welcome to the Porsche world. It is a beautiful one.
