Stand21 (GA) have used Indocil quite a bit.

If you deal with the Georgia office of Stand21, ask Chad OUZTS about Indocil.

When I was recently at the Indocil shop they had helmets of all brands in process - including a new Stilo for one K.Busch...

ive had a few painted lids.
the very best , i think, are produced by mike savage of savage designs.
tons of top grand am guys utilize his services. super passionate guy and handled the process quickly and with great skill
the helmets have so much depth and dimension to them...i have another helmet i painted hwich i like a lot but its not even close the level of detail in the Savage work.

i paid about $1grand for my savage design. as others noted, most custom paint jobs will be significantly in excess of the cost of the helmet.

Timely post.

I just got my new SA2010 Arai back from www.cleberdesigns.com . Cleber does alot of the pros helmets also. Very fast work. Less than 2 weeks total from the time I sent it, and I received it back. He sent me proofs after I gave him a general idea. Great communication.
Looks great and not a crazy price either. Very happy here.

Very nice. I like the simplicity.

I'd forgotten about Cleber.

A couple close friends of mine recently have had their lids done by Cleber too and were equally pleased.

Add another one to the list!

My helmet ends up scuffed up after a year or so of hitting the roll cage while climbing in and out of the car. How do these high end paint jobs hold up under real world use?

There is Troy Lee too. http://www.troyleedesigns.com/paint/...roadrace.php#3

Started painting MX helmets, but also does race cars. Not my type of designs though.

Greg, you tend to be a bit more careful with your helmet once you've dropped a grand+ on paint.

There is always a thick lacquer coat on top of the decorative paint, although that doesn't protect it against dings and dents from not being careful.

Thanks. I'm even happier knowing I paid nowhere near $1k like some helmets

Perfect timing for this post, just received the boyfriend's lid from Ron @ Discovery Parts and trying to decide what to do with it.

I had mine and my father's done by Fatboyz Graphix in Georgia, I believe. With mine, I basically told the artist that I wanted something girly, pink, and checkered flags, and this is the design he came up with, and it's perfect! My dad's lid has amazing flames all over it.

I have one little chip on the left side where I guess I lean against a zip tie that is holding my roll cage padding on. But other than that, my paint job is going on 5 years of club racing and a year of autocross with the boyfriend (and I will say, he looks pretty good in pink flowers )

thanks for the kind words gents. some of my guys told me about this thread. i am tyler, the owner and sole person at censport, any inquiries are welcome.

and yes, indocil, savage, cleber, might be forgetting a few, are all excellent painters and good people too. i know the boys at indocil quite well, same with savage. you won't go wrong with any of us. i guess it all comes down to what style of artist suits you the best as we all have our own "look".

if you do want to get in touch with me you can shoot me an email off my website www.censportgfx.com or give me a ring 208-867-8572

best,
ty

I'd be interested in a full vinyl wrap or maybe some vinyl work (I'm sure a local place can do the latter pretty easy). I don't want to spend too much on the helmet as I bonk my head at times on the roll cage and really can't see myself spending more to get the helmet painted than what I paid for it in the first place. (I've got a Pyrotect Pro Airflow SA 2010 - got it for $279 shipped w/ predrilled for HANS). I need to spend money on my car getting delrin bushings and the LSD tranny rebuilt and installed.
