There was some great competition in GTS across all classes. The races were fun to watch. I was happy to meet onefastviking when we caught with the TexasSpeed crew. Jay drove great in all three races. A barbie car is the 2010 GTS2 Champion, and as a whole the Porsches did well. Lots of excitement in all three 944 Spec races, especially on Saturday. Good stuff all around and MMP is a fantastic facility.

Congrats Viking!
GTS3
Probably won of the most dominate class winners of the 2010 NASA National Championships was Jay Matus. Matus crushed the competition in both qualifying races, then during the national championship race he ran away from his class by three seconds per lap to become the 2010 NASA GTS3 National Champion in his Porsche 996 sponsored by Viking Extreme Motorsports. Second place went to Gregory Dalgam driving the number 631 BMW M3 sponsored by Ultimate Auto Works. Third went to hard charger Doug Grande sponsored by One Grande Racing.

Tyler Palmer, 16 years old and only in his 5th race ever in a car, came in 2nd place at the nationals in the 944 spec class. Although, he's not my kid, my 12 year old daughter raced against him this past November at the California State Championships at Calspeedway. Tyler won the State Championships, my daughter came in 7th.
Good to see karters making an impression right away transitioning to cars!!!

I believe Gorden had some engine problem, I am sure he will let us know once he gets back to Cali and settled in. The heat was taking it's toll on a number of cars at the event, I got lucky and realized it early and changed a couple things to try to keep things cool, which seemed to work for us.
It was very unfortunate for John since he was running so well up to the final race, and he is a very nice guy and great racer. It was very good to finally meet him and put a face with the name.

Vali P out of California was the winning Boxster in GTS2. It was actually a Spec Box with a tire change to be a strong car for GTS2, of course Vali drove the wheels off of it as he always does ! Interesting that a Spec Box is such a great car for GTS2, it makes for a very nice class and additional race class to run if you have a Spec Boxster.
Great to meet you too Mark ! And your OG Racing gloves came in perfect time as my old ones had just developed a hole.
