Jeebus... I posted this thing for the first time right here less than 48 hours ago. It's gone viral. Over 12k views as of a couple hours ago, and Youtube is asking me if I want to sell ads on it (pffft). I just did a google search for "trackday comedy" and this is the list as best I can tell:

Sheesh. If I'd have known this many people were going to watch it I would have spent at least a moment or two editing out the deadwood to make it shorter. I hope this doesn't count as my 15 minutes of fame... if so I want a do-over.
Still... I'm glad to have provided a laugh.

And one more you've never heard of--PDC Racing/trackjunkies. It's a private, hilariously active Bay Area based email list of car/racing/DE enthusiasts. Many on the list are active in putting on Northern California DEs and Club Races, primarily with BMWCCA and NASA. Uniformly high praise for your effort!

Don't edit anything. The well done script is what makes it work. All of the verbage or close to has been heard by an instructor or CI at some point.

That is hilarious! I think most of us have had a similar experience. Maybe not quite as bad as the character in the video, but at least something similar. I love the line about his tires were shot and his shocks were set all wrong.

It is funny. I've had several similar conversations with students. Maybe not quite as extreme as "I drive flat out" when Miata's are being held up... but close.
I guess if you can afford a GT 3 and have your own pit crew to maintain it at HPDE events and an 18 wheeler to transport it, then you obviously must be a "flat out driver".

We've all had them at our DEs. The one I had was entering One Lap of America in a car way too powerful for him - and no track experience. He gave himself about 3 or 4 months to make the rounds of all the tracks that were going to be in use that year. Not only do they make it rough on the instructor - but also the organizers and especially, the other people on the track with them.... Hopefully, they will take up boating next year...
