Default NYC Metro Porsche Shop

A recent transplant from Chicago here and looking to get myself signed up with the local PCA clubs and start getting back to DEs. Any shops we prefer that can help with the basics like, pads, tires, fluids, pre and post track check ups etc.?? Basic maintenance.

Also any advice or guidance on northeastern tracks, clubs and track junkies would be great. Thanks!

We've used TKX Performance in Huntington Station for years. Taso (Ktenas) is a MNYPCA driver and a great guy. We have always been pleased with all of his work and advice. Taso has taken car of all of our Porsches, both street and track -- we track alot. He never suggests doing extraneous work. And he is most often on time and reasonably priced. Can't be beat. Love him.

Formula Motorsports right at the 59th Street Bridge is in my opinion the Porsche center in the US. They are always honest and deliver top quality.

Lots of great shops listed on this thread already. DeMan has done some work on my car, and I was very happy with the results. They also have a really cool shop with a lot of interesting race cars. Another shop that has done a lot of work for me is Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford, NY. They also do great work and are die-hard Porsche guys.

As for tracks and clubs, I think all of the PCA regions around here do good DE events. I usually do Metro NY's events, and they have some social events in the city that are fun too. For tracks, Lime Rock is about 2 hours from manhattan (I've done driving up and back in one day for an event there, it wasn't too bad) and NJMP is about 2.5 hours away. Both are great venues. Watkins Glen is a little farther away but it's a really cool, very historic track.

Kind of strange the first post in this thread after 3 years is by a member promoting formula motorsports. THEN a new member with 4 posts (half of them being about f motors) says something about them as well.

maybe they found one of their loyal customers? They did some work on my 928, but I stopped going to them after being told yearly inspection was $100 (official price is $35 - not sure what and why they wanted to charge extra $65 for).
