Gingerman or Autobahn North: which do you prefer and why?
Thinking about (a LeMons) race either at Gingerman or the North Course at Autobahn in October. I have not driven either of these courses, so I'd very much like to hear your thoughts about them if you have driven both and can compare and contrast them for me.
Yes, it would be a LeMons car, but leave that aside for the moment and just discuss which of these two is more worth the loooong tow from the Philadelphia area.
Thanks!

South track is much more interesting of the two, though the full track is best when it's available. South track is longer flows better, and has more interesting combinations of corners. I do see more car carnage on the South track, though.

Autobahn north is VERY short and somewhat boring. Watch a video and you'll see what I mean. It makes Lime Rock look like the Nurburgring. You also run the risk with the Chicago race of having to deal with pretty cold weather if you camp at the track in late October. The upside to Autobahn North is that the course is very wide, which might be a huge plus in a Lemons race.
I would go for Gingerman. Especially if you're thinking about the Chumpcar event in August.

Three Wheelin'
We had a lot of fun at the spring Gingerman event. Remember, most videos will show how the cours was, they are supposed to be opening a new section at the end of the course to change turn 9 and 10, iirc. Pm me if you need any help. Hope to see you there!

I have seen the new addition to Gingerman and we didn't use it because it is an offcamber right hand turn with a freshly excavated mud ditch if you slide off. Gingerman is a very safe track with guardrail on only one corner. There is almost nothing to hit if you screw up. The additional track needs compaction, time and grass so if you slide off, you will keep sliding. Now you'll plant the first wheel off and then it's roll time. But it is better than Autobahn Northdue to 1. length 2. size of paddock 3. Quanity of close good resturants 4. Close acceptable hotels 5. 70 mph interstate to get there
