I believe that a 3.2 911 with a chip, a fresh motor, a 7:31 ring and pinion, big reds, and the right suspension set-up running at minimal allowable weight (all within F-prepared limits) would be just as fast as a F-class boxster. I wish we could find a way to make the comparison on track. Would be fun.
The Boxster is a superior platform to the older 911 simply because it is newer and has all the advancements post 993 model year. It should be faster. It has a better engine, transmission, brakes, layout, suspension etc.
I would bet that you put the same driver in the F class 911 and then in the Boxster and the Boxster is quicker. It has enough advancements in every respect that it should be if you take the diver out of the equation.
Make all the fun you want of the chixster but its a great starting platform for a race car and their development has proceeded very quickly over that last few years.

the "chickster" F class weighs in at just over 3000. the min weight allowable is 3004. and yes, it was a hard decision to move from a rear engine to the chickster platform, i too always made fun of those mid engine cars when i drove my 911 and gt3 but now i just smile when i pass them on the track!

Paolo - Doug's car has 30 (your dyno was 220, correct?) more HP, better aero, antilock brakes, and a modern suspension. I don't know the weights but assume they run around the same as you? You are running with 964's like Wayne-o's with 250HP also. Your engine is about 8 years old (yet healthy). I would say move to a Boxster S/ 964 platform or see what HP can be made with a balance/blueprint rebuild on your 3.2. Me, I would sell your car while it's healthy.. John S. wants it back!

Good news is that EVERYONE has a lot to learn. Some are just farther along than others. As I said before, put a REALLY fast guy in your car and go to work on finding out what you need to work on. I hope you are running good data where you can get a good analysis of the differences.
You are now getting to a level where you have to see it on video, see it in the data to do it. Going faster isn't just about the seat of your pants. I, for one, always benefit from seeing that someone else can do something I didn't think could be done. Whether it's 5mph more mid-corner speed or 25-50 ft deeper braking, you simply can't always judge that by the seat of your pants because if the seat of your pants hasn't done something, your mind won't let it....

Remember that comparing dyno numbers on different days between different dynos is worthless. That 40 hp swing could easily be the result of operator, dyno brand, weather, etc (i.e. on an neutral dyno, you could make 20 more and he 20 less) based on variances I've seen in dynos.
