Default FS: AIM GPS Module for MXL

Goes for $399 i'm told, shipped anywhere in the US for $250. Works great but don't need it with new SmartyCam. Ditch the beacon and all the old speed sensors!

The unit manual is here - http://aim-sportline.com/download/do...le_115_eng.pdf

PM or email me.

I just sold mine; someone should buy Gary's. The GPS module is a really nice addition to an AIM dash. More data and more convenient than the beacon/receiver.
Highly recommended.

Gary - did you switch to smartycam? Any issues with GPS reception since removing the antenna?

I have the identical setup, and am thinking about ditching the chase cam/GPS antenna, too.

TIA!

Yes Ben, if you have the Smarty Cam w/External GPS it would be redundant. Sell the original GPS, plenty of people with a standard MXL that it is a great upgrade for out there. I'm waiting for my new camera from AIM but assume I will have to do a bit of software manipulation when it gets here..

Like Gary, I sold my GPS because the SmartyCam has it included.
I haven't had Smarty (what a stupid name) on the track yet, but based on my mad driveway racing skilz, it looks to work fine. Very nice to have it turn on/off all by itself.
Next week to Tremblant; I'll report back following.

Have you tried importing Maps Rick? I'm curious if the GPS Manager's Lap and Split placement works properly. It failed to work on my first outing with it but there was a conflict with my internal GPS so i'm thinking that played a part. Do you have the new external GPS SmartyCam?

AIM USA is replacing it with the new version with external GPS (and some other updates). Sent in old, they send back new.
