Any Farnbacher news?

I was wondering if anyone has any updates on them... What prompted my thinking about them is I was helping a friend change the brakes on his GT3 - as soon as we got the car on the lift, we discovered that his locking lug tool was missing. They guys at Farnbacher never put it back after the last service.

By now, I wonder if that tool has been impounded by the FBI! :)

This is the most recent article I've found...I guess Loles is just in jail until the hearing, and all the Farnbacher/Loles businesses have filed for bankruptcy/ch11.

If your friend got out of there and that's all that was missing he should be counting his blessings. I'm sure plenty of people have a lot more stuff stuck in there.

This man has severely negatively impacted a LOT of people's lives. Including his own family, church family, employees, business partners clients. And the list goes on. He going to have to answer for that at some point, and I don't mean the FBI!!!!!

Good point! Can you just imagine if you had a cup car there having the engine overhauled?

Van... what style lug tool is it? I have an extra one I can give you for him from my car. This is the same guy who called me last summer right?

I actually had the one kicking around from my car. Interestingly enough, the tooth spacing was different. But, with the bridgeport, I was able to modify it to work. (He's going to replace the locking lug bolts with standard ones now... I'm surprised that after 3 years of DE, no one in a tech line ever told him to get rid of those!)

The spacing is different for each car model & several exist within the same model. We just went thru this with the Cayenne. The dealer worked on it last month (the headlight leveling sensor went bad) & did not put the tool back in after taking the front tire off. So, last week they had to give us their master as they could not find ours. All over the technician not bothering to use the his master in the first place. From what I understand this happens all the time.

Replacement lugs are on order for the truck! Not going thru that again. What if Luda was off in Virgina or something visiting friends.... She would have been stuck!

You know how it gets on the tech line... most of the time these guys could care less about your car. As long as the wheel is not falling off....

As always you save the day :-)

A couple silly excerpts from the article.....

"One arm of the Farnbacher Loles business is outfitting Porsches and Audis with custom performance parts, described by one client as “selling barely street-legal cars to rich folks.” Yeah and...?

"People who had enough money could also buy actual race cars from Loles, cars that cannot legally be driven on public roads and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars." Yeah and....?

Guys from all account "Farnbacher" was not involved in shady stuff. Only Loles. Farnbacher allowed Loles to use that name for extra credibility when starting the organization. Lets not confuse the two since Farnbacher racing is still active in Europe.

Joe I think your post has some typos that change what you are trying to say here....

I think you meant to say that Farnbacher was NOT involved in shady stuff...Only Loles.
