Ferrari next year...

Sorry, couldn't find a bigger photo to illustrate the chemistry between the two Ferrari drivers...

Should Massa eventually return to form and Alonso has a WDC point lead and Massa somehow does not relinquish position, I can see a blow up of massive proportions. Remember there is history with Massa and Alonso blowing up at each other a couple years ago in an after race, post weight scale episode.

.
Well except for the fact that Mika Hakinen nearly died (coma and all) and came back to beat Schumacher like a pimp beats his hooker on more than one ocassion. Everyone is different. Massa is a fighter that's very clear at this point, he's no Barichello/Coulthard boot licker type. And he's fast, completely under rated. He broke the track record at Mugello (not in a Ferrari) in his first ever F1 test with no experience in any F1 car.

this isn't directed at you but Alonso as 2x's WDC had a tough time consistently beating a rookie team mate when he was in a new car. Now he's getting in another new car against a guy who far from being a rookie and was one corner away from beating Alonso's old McLaren team mate for a title. Don't get me wrong I think Alonso is the most consistent driver (not the fastest) but he's far from unbeatable. I'm not sure I would even rate him one of the two fastest anymore.

I think Fernando's craftier and grittier than Massa is. I'm thinking of wet races where Fernando has either won, scored points, and on one occassion beaten Massa outright (anyone wanna pull up the translation of the argument afterward? ). However, I think part of what helped Felipe close the gap to Raikkonen is constant work and analysis of ways to improve the car, nail down a strategy, and execute on Sunday.

However, I think Fernando's a more complete driver than Kimi in this respect, so Felipe will undoubtedly have his work cut out for him. My guess is that Fernando will edge Felipe out unless the car doesn't like his aggressive turn in and prefers a more gentle hand. Should be interesting though, I have to believe there's going to be some finger pointing, but hopefully not on a Spygate level.
