Depends on track. Some tracks wouldn't be worth the price to pay for not being at home that day. Also depends on travel time.

I've taken my mother autocrossing with me for Mother's Day. She loved it. She'd love it if I took her out to the track, too (in fact, maybe I'll do that for 2010). And, well, I'm female, so there's no wife/mother of my children to worry about.

When we were first looking at track dates - a Mother's Day weekend was available. Even the track manager told me it was not a date to be rented - we respect our mums. However, a Father's Day makes great family quality time together - many father/sons and father/daughters come out to play...
Mother's Day would be a hard nut to crack.....

For many years Mid-Ohio region's Club Race was held on Mother's Day weekend. We had great debates, never settled, as to whether or how much it hurt attendence. We even polled the racers one year - most prefered it to be moved.
We finally got it moved to another weekend, thus Mr. Herod's request above (they now have the weekend for a DE).
We do know that it hurt our volunteer numbers - more of those needed for a CR than a DE.
