Toyota next to leave Formula One

There was a lot more to the US F1 tiregate FIAsco.
Some don't seem to recall that...
Bridgestone had a "Heads Up" on the Indy track resurfacing.
Bridgestone owns Firestone who discovered the problem with the new track surface in testing for the Indy 500.
Firestone went back and modified their tires after initial tests showed severe tire wear.
Michelin had no data on the change in track surface until they arrived for practice and qualifying.

As I recall, Bernie went to the teams asking for support in adding the Chicane...
Ferrari wouldn't agree.
Then the Michelin teams offered to run with the chicane added, and wouldn't be running for points.
Mad Max veto'ed all proposals... insuring it would be a Bridgestone... three team race.
The Michelin shod teams were told by Michelin it was unsafe... and so, after the parade lap, they pulled into the pits.
We all know that Michelin provided $$$ for those fans who went to Indy the following year...
Then pulled out of Formula One.
After the six car FIAsco... Boy George didn't renew the F1 contract when it came up... and we no longer have a Formula One event here in the USA.

You fail to remember that rule changes were brought about that season to stop the Ferrari/Schumacher freight train and they finally found it when the 1 tire rule per race came into effect. Michelin was kicking Bridgestones a$$ at every race. The moment Bridgestone has an advantage, they are supposed to give it up>? Come'on Finn, your kidding me right?

Pete, that does not explain why Ferrari said no since the Michelin teams offered to run for no points. Ferrari had no risk it seems.

if it's true they offered to run for no points, I don't know why. we can speculate all day.

"Run for NO POINTS"...
if the FIA would allow a chicane.
The reason was "To put on a show" for the ~125,000 fans who had already bought tickets and traveled to Indy.
Bernie even went to Max, pleading for a chicane.
Ole Maxie VETOED any reasonable change that would have allowed the Michelin shod teams to perform.

It's a shame Toyota is not selling the whole operation as the car was pretty good but since they're not, this is the next best option.
USF1 is one of the entries who want to buy these, Manor being the other, which tells us a lot about USF1's status.
Without car being very close to being built (or better yet, finished), how are they thinking of doing FIA crash test in time?
