^That's his cut down fighter pilot steering wheel. Really heavy without power steering. lol.

....So given the choice we'd all go for the 'through the dash' cage? Is there any way of pulling out all the stock heating / demisting parts and substitute with something a bit more basic? In fact the heating wouldn't bother me, but you would want to keep or have some form of demisting. I've heard of guys putting in desk fans and wiring up a dash switch. Food for thought.

I'm pretty sure you can have the dash bar and heat set up as well just may need a little custom ducting

I just bought it from OG racing if I remember but most other places have them. They are made by sparco and are about $50 They also do single button versions

Seriously, thank you. It is not that hard to go through the dash vent, and it preserves something critical for ingress/egress; the area just under the dash. Whether you are short with your seat fixed far forward, or tall with long legs, that area forward under the dash is critical in getting your feet in and out. The 944 door aperture is small as it is, and preserving every bit of space is critical. You don't have much choice in our older buckets but to cut the side of the dash off. I don't hesitate to do this for two reasons; 1) gets the tube in tight. 2) allows MUCH easier access to the stupid fuse panel! Ever try to change a Series I fuel pump relay in a hurry?
