There are a few non-professionally raced 996 and 997 cups, and a bunch of 964 cups that had their race series cancelled.

There were 25 Andial race prepped US Carrera Cups that all were converted back to street strim and sold through Porsche dealership as street cars. Not sure if this is what you are refering to.

+1

The worst is a race car that's only been driven in DEs, track days etc.

I never understood the idea of owning a race car and never racing it.

Maybe I can help you understand it. Factory built race cars HOLD their VALUE. Especially those used in DEs/track days ... which in most cases is a walk in the park for these cars.

Alternatively, trying to convert a street car into a capable track car can be an outrageously expensive endeavor ... then when you decide to sell, they don't retain anywhere near the value ... all in money ... of a factory race car.

Hope this is helpful.

The real question is whether they still claimed to be virgins after your private time with them?

You missed my point and I understand what you're saying but since/when one has a race car, why not race it?

I don't mean necessary going pro racing series but at least club racing.

If one has $100+ K to spend on a factory cup car, they surely have money to race it too.

Hey;

If provenance is important to you, then fine, but you better go in with your eyes open and your emotions turned OFF. Don't look at what you see, look at what you don't see. That's where the tale of every car is told. If you don't know where to look, take someone along who does. If you ever watched a race and saw the utter CARNAGE that goes on - and more so the more recently it was - then put 2+2 together, AND SHOP CAREFULLY.

I'd want the best car I could afford. If it had been raced, I'd be more skeptical, but still open minded. If I had fixed it (or someone like me), I would not worry a bit!

Some simply choose not to race. Lots of reasons.

Sure but it's like having Angelina Jolie, ready and willing, waiting in bed, but then just decide to cuddle and hug with her, instead of "racing"...

A factory race car at a DE is at least living its life on a track as opposed to a museum.

Of course but that's sort of like cuddling & hugging Angelina, isn't it?

It's of course much better than just looking at her (= factory race car in museum) but why not go "all in" and have sex with her instead...
