I can't really see where he screwed up. Any opinions?

Too much throttle, too soon, with too much steering. And then he waited to react with the steering wheel well after the rear end had started to step out. Slow hands on the reaction. Nothing abnormal....just not right on the initial inputs or quick enough to recover.

Yeah. Ditto. That looks a lot like Turn 1 at VIR where an early turn in is good, but you have to unwind the wheel before getting on the gas. He isn't allowing a removal of the intial steering input before getting on the gas. The whole exit of that turn is greasy, although most of the grip is in tight vs. out wide. But it aint gonna grip even with slicks if there's too much steering there.

Was just at VIR, on my garbage toyos with pressures too high I was having a little rear end sliding in my gt2 when track out of that turn with throttle, never that early into it, hmm...

I will disagree with the throttle too soon. In the 911s you have to start rolling on the power early to plant the rear end. I think it was just too much throttle at that point. There is a difference between rolling on the throttle and powering out of the corner. If he had gone maybe 20-30% throttle instead of what looked to be 60%+ he probably would have been fine. And also once you start rolling in you have to unwind the wheel faster and let the front tires be pushed out by the rear end.

Kind of reminds me of pilot induced oscillation on a bouncy landing. (or a waggie trailer on a truck)
Its not that his hands are not quick enough, his were just out of phase to where he needed to be.
If you think of the hands tied to a string to the rear end, it has to move almost exactly at the same speed and amount. slack in the string, or too fast or two slow reaction and this is what happens.
Its not even about getting on the gas on the exit, its about controlling the gas with the steering on the exit. Eventually, they will turn in, exit early on the gas and do a nice exit slide leaving two big black marks, rather than a couple of "S"s.
I just noticed one more thing. as the gas is applied, the hands should be letting out the wheel,

applied throttle, then lifted while not unwinding the wheel

As I read back over the posts, I don't see anyone saying he was too early on the throttle...those who have used the words "too soon" have said he had too MUCH throttle, too soon. In other words, exactly what you said about rolling onto the throttle slowly...
