$18k to Children's Hospital
This past weekend was the BC Children's Hospital Miracle Weekend, and it included a 24 hour telethon on Global TV.
I'm the team manager and barista for Bullet Racing, a Vancouver, BC based race team that competes in a few of the Grand Am races (most notably the 24hrs of Daytona, in GT), in a few PNW races (12 hours of Portland, Rose Cup, various Seattle events, etc), as well as locally at our home track of Mission.
This is the first year, of many more to come, that we've raced on behalf of the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, and have done our best to raise funds for their worthy cause.
Needless to say, we were asked if we cared to participate in the telethon this year, and we said "Sure!".
We took a couple of our cars down to the telethon location, at the Children's Hospital, and did an on-air presentation of our funds raised so far this year.
Made us pretty happy, and I thought I'd share.

Who would have thought that race cars and a hospital's Quiet Zone would go so well together?

Oh, I'm also happy to announce that even with the economy the way it is, and fears of coming in under predictions, the Miracle Weekend raised $15 million, a full $1 million more than their goal.
