why dont low hp cars get any respect ?

Low powered cars are where it's at! High HP is lots of fun if you're by yourself or time trialing, but when you're racing wheel-to-wheel, the less power your competitors have, the more that things like carrying momentum and corner exit speed will count and serve to separate the men from the boys. My previous track car had twice the power:weight ratio of my current 944-Spec, but I find racing the "slow" 944 far more fun, challenging, and rewarding. It also costs a lot less, and really motivates me to focus on improving as a driver.

Those of insufficient intellect - or insufficient application of what they do have - seem to equate driving fast with driving well. Always have, probably always will. You might be kind and chaulk that up to simple ignorance, and/or the halucinogenic qualities of speed.
You did everyone a service by explaining this to your antagonist. Much to his credit that he did not give you a ration of scheissen in return.
Brian is right. Forcing a pass is not accomplished by robbing yourself of any momentum entering a straightaway. Pulling along side of him after the apex might get his attention though!

You missed a couple of opportunities to scare the guy in front of you and therefore guarantee that he would let you through. I love DEs.... not.
See you next week

v-tach,
I am glad you enjoyed our event. I am also happy that after you talked with the driver he was more courteous. I too noticed that the passing was not very good in the first sauces session, but it did improve though out the two days. The saucers group can be a tough group to run in, as you have a wide variety of drivers ranging from instructors to white run group drivers. Having run in both groups I did feel that over all everything seemed to run very smoothly.
Looking at the video the driver giving the signal should have lifted as you were obviously faster then him. I agree that you should have pulled out from behind him when you got the signal and they may have encouraged him to let you by.

Come down to the paddock near turn 1, and there will be a few rennlisters there. DrJupeman, Jimbo951, and myself. 38D will also be there, but he hasn't posted on rennlist for a while.
