996 Race Car Dash Layout

1 Attachment(s)
I have a New to me 996 Koni Car coming this week. Pictured below is the dash layout which I'd like to clean up a bit and reorganize to my liking and from an esthetics stand point. In searching on the internet I have not been able to find "Blank" center console pieces where I could drill hole for switches etc. Does anyone know the whereabouts of such an animal?

The other solution would be to start with a piece of Carbon Fiber or Plastic? If so where is a good place to source that?

Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Get rid of the climate control unit and install a blower switch (ala Cupcar). Then you have more dash realestate. Also you may want to get some shifter box risers...

Just remove that heavy stock dash and go with something clean and simple...

Dave, check with a company called MA Shaw. They make all sorts of CF panels for BMW's, and someone recently told me they also do some Porsche stuff.

Try these guys, they sell all types of carbon fiber. I made dash plates for my car and used their cf vaneer to finish the plates.

Long Story Shortened.... I PM'd a fellow R-Lister asking about his 996 as I was interested in the Spec Series and/or getting my hands on a newer platform car that was already set-up for racing. My 993 was a great DE car but had more to be done to go full race. He gave me the name of a race shop that where he had heard about the one I ultimately bought. It was buried on a Grand-Am Forum. It was campaigned by a few teams such as Bernheim, Fiorono, & recently by Dragon Speed who is now campaigning a Cup car in the GT3 Challenge (IMSA). Had it PPI’d in LA and everything was cool… I’ll post more pics when I get the car this week. It Podium’d its last couple races too.

Spacers that lift the shifter cage about an inch off of the tunnel. I've seen them, but don't know a source (other than a decent hardware store).

Lose the climate control and go this route. Easy to do, we'll sell you the pieces.

The blue anodized lifts for the shifter come from PMNA and are around $125 for the set of 4. I have 1 set left from our Spec Boxster builds. They are for sale.

Dave, you need to add "DE" to that sponsor logo on the side doors.
