I suspect you are correct.

The car got better in the afternoon, but I took a passenger (yellow student) and didn't really push it. Still 2:04's but the car felt better. My point is that with the bars at such an extreme, I have zero adjustment left. So......is it time to look at spring rates?

BTW, I think that 1:55's with a well set up 996 is very doable. With sphericals and 9"fronts and 11" rears it might even be in the 1:54's

VR, no sense putting you in the right seat until I sort out the car. You'd be going code brown all over the place with the rear stepping out like it was. The car was really dialed in for a Drifting event.
If you'd like I can drive your car the next time we are out and give you an opinion. If I were you I would drop the sways to a more neutral setting, lower the spring rates 100-200 lbs, equally, and sort the shocks out to where you are comfortable before attempting to change the sways. I use the sways for final adjustments and more mid corner once everything is dialed in close.

Roger that, Bill. Anytime. I owe you and Paul Norwood a ride-along, separate & apart from my "coach the instructors" role this year.

Here's a synopsis:

"More gas. Less brake. Go straighter, faster."

PS: my new avatar makes me stiffer up front because she is softer out back, per the OP's question.

That's what Robert told me... Pretty brave of him considering what has happened EVERY other time he's ridden with me. He was wise to wait until my last run of the weekend. I always hold back a bit, cause at that point in the weekend I want to make sure my car goes home in one piece.

OK, so a little follow up here.

Well, I was able to dial out the diabolical oversteer with shock settings. Actually got the car to push and I was able to take out some front bar.

Not quite there yet as I still have wheel hop in corners. I think that I may still have too much bump. I'd still like to tune more and get to the point where my sway bars have a more neutral setting, but the reccomendations here worked.

I'll keep posting the changes I make and what happens. FWIW, the 225 front and 275 rear combination was not bad. I think 235/285 or 295 is where I'll wind up.

Set up will change for optimum results between TWS and ECR .

Bill, where did you wind up with the rebound settings?

Larry, these are all counted back from full hard position.

Front Rebound: 28/40 Bump16/25
Rear Rebound: 28/40 Bump 17/25

Still high but my goal over the weekend was to see how much I could effect rear grip. I managed to make the car very tight by dialing down rear shock so that I could take front bar out. After that, I was planning on working on tuning the shock.

Viking, the AM started out with a pretty balanced car (expected change from TWS to ECR) so my goal was to make the car push by messing with shock. For TWS I'm probably really close on balance, but off with respect to overall shock performance and grip. Pretty severe wheel hop when the car grips.

Getting closer!
