Mark K., You commented on Flanagan on the track. It's great to see him back and I am sure his times will get better, how much I'm not sure but I do know he has had very limited track time in the last few years. He just picked up this car a couple of months ago and has not competed regulary since ROLEX GT and IMSA a couple of years ago. We talked to him Sunday and he was getting anxious but really happy to be back in the car. Guaranteed he will be talking to the "other Patrick" for the fastest lines !!

Some of the new rules in racing seem like these rule makers are getting ideas from their wives/girlfriends or from the network demanding they make it more exciting, so they do anything. I guarantee whoever did that wheel of inversion in NC a couple years back was behind this.
No self respecting person with a passion for racing would want such a stupid idea. This rule is coming from someone that knows nothing about racing.

In club racing, I've wondered about doing some type of inverse grids for the top X as a fun thing but not in Pro racing. With how things are going with the Speed tv deals, I guess they're just trying new things in hopes ratings will improve. No idea other than that.

The bold portion typifies a lot of (but not all) SCCA decisions. Ask someone about the BMW fiasco in ITS a couple of years ago.
