Longer wheel studs?
1980 911SC D-Class/GTS2
I have a set of BBS wheels with thicker flanges than my Fuchs, so the studs end flush with the lug nuts - not acceptable. Does anyone here know what the stock length is so I know what to order. Also, does anyone know the type of seated end so I can order custom from ARP?
Alos, I need recommendations on window nets, inner and outer.
Thanks in advance.

Don,
Having the stud flush with the lugnut is fine. That is more than enough thread engagement. There is nothing wrong with longer studs, makes it a little easier to install the wheel.
General rule of thumb is to have thread engagement equal to the diamater of the stud.

You can get a couple different lengths of longer 911 studs from Smart Racing Products or Paragon Products
I agree that having the stud end flush with the nut is sufficient assuming proper torque.

All, I cannot remember where I read it, but buried in some club racing rules, I read that the stud had to show one full revolution of thread beyond the nut. I know its not that big a deal, and I have never had a loose nut (other than behind the wheel), but my studs may be 29 years old, so I'm replacing them with 52mm I ordered today from Paragon, plus new nuts. I'll be in there next weekend replacing rotors anyway, so why not?
Jim, the drug dealer rims still look "fly, for a white guy".
Eddie, TedA and I are signed up for comp school and club race with NASA 3/27-29. We did their instructor clinic and instructed with them in Feb. Great event, great organization. Oh, how'd I do? I won the DE Cup!!!
