Don't really miss it, but I kinda liked this car (my wife"s):

The V8 is supposed to be the one to get, but I've got a soft spot for 6's.

This one I really miss:

Traded it in after a (this is the last straw) near encounter with a hooved rat.

I'd love to find one just like your old car. One on my short list of cars that I want to own!

964 RSR based a cup car and built with all factory parts + a Schmirler engine... and had a street license!!!!
I drove it to Brands Hatch on street tyres, swaped that for slicks... finished 3rd... and drove home... Wheels went in my street car (Caynne S) driven by a friend... It was GREAT, leaving the track and looking at everyone else prepping in their big trucks etc. I really miss her... I know where she is so maybe I'll try to get her back. Sold her for a right cause though. Bought a 996 RS sequential with what I got for her and had a great season with that one too.

The Michelin sticker was the back of my street license plate... When I got to the track, I just swapped sides... Those were the days!

Was that in '00 or '01? When I sold my '73S it was because I found a cheap RS America to make into a club racer. But I couldn't justify making the S into a racer. Should have just put my foot down and told my then (newish) wife that no way, no how was another decent 2.4S going to come along for the $9K I bought the car for............

Other than that, I had a really nice '79SC that was in need of a full restoration. Scrounged up all the good pieces to make it into a nice driver and autocross car. 3.2, 7/31 LSD gearbox, '85 Carrera interior with the good sport seats, 8&9" Fuchs, raised & decambered spindles with revalved Bilsteins, etc etc. But the track bug beckoned again and I needed a truck and trailer. Customer of mine gave me a ridiculous price, so off it went!

(That's not the RSA in the pic, I did use that '92 C4.........pig that it was.........until the RSA was race ready.)

1996 Porsche 993 converted by Kelly Moss Motorsports to RSR Spec.
Full carbon-kevlar body, including the roof. PMNA RSR motor and trans.
Penske 2-way shocks...lots of high quality detail.
I had the body repainted by Kelly Moss last spring. The engine also went through a full rebuild and with Motec data and ECU installed.

Originally I planned to sell it and buy a new 997 Cup, but with todays hostile economy, I just don't know what I'll do...

It's been a crappy winter.

I feel your pain! I told my wife that we buy a brand new cup car every 2 years with the kids tuitions but she still thinks it's better than me racing... Anyway, great sounding car. Sorry you're letting it go... Sounds like it would be fun to drive

Yeah, thanks. It's a great car.

I'll get something new, it just might take a while.

1965 red Lotus Elan convertible which I bought in 1968 and used as a daily driver to get to law school. (Not a great car for that purpose.) Sold it in 1971 when I got married and couldn't live with the idea that my wife might have to drive it. Traded it in on a brand new BMW 2002 which cost around $3000. and I think my trade was $1200. The Elan was a disaster to maintain but I sure wish I still had her...

It's a long story, but Jeff Stone approached me last September and asked to be first in line should I decide to sell. I said "sure" thinking I'd never part from that car.

In November I got an e-mail from Vera @ PMNA inquiring if I wanted to buy a new 997 Cup. Though I did not formally commit to the new car, I kept my word to Jeff and we worked out a deal.

I'm really sorry to see her go. That is a fast, well handling car that will be hard to top.

Damn....
