Default Arctic Rally Of Finland RESULTS and video (F1 content)

Hello guys,

As you know, Arctic Rally in northern Finland always draws F1 people and this is year no exception even though this time there are only Finnish F1 drivers in there.
(past years have had Villeneuve, Haugh etc. driving).

This year Raikkonen, Hakkinen, J.J. and Salo are driving. J.J. usually has been the fastest and no one had any idea how Kimi would do but he's been the quickest of those four with his tiny little Fiat.
Pretty damn quick for his first ever rally. I mean they're not nowhere near the top but concidering they're not there to fight for the win and Kimi's car ain't the fastest either. Just reading the notes takes time to learn but Kimi's co-driver said he's been doing great.

You can follow the results here. After 2nd stage, Kimi is 16th (-1.09), J.J. 19th (-1.13), Häkkinen 20th (1.24) and Salo 22th (-1.37). Currently they're on stage 3.

Man I wish I was up there in snow with a thermos bottle filled with warm tea & dark run and watching the action!

OK, 1st day is done, here are the F1 boys' results after 6 stages:

-J.J. 13th (-2.58.4).
-Raikkonen 16th (-3.28.0).
-Salo 20th (-4.35.7).
-Hakkinen 23th (-5.48.1).

6th stage was short, fastest time was 2.52.0, Kimi hauled ***, being 4th only 0.4 sec slower than the winner!
Salo was 15th, 5.2 secs slower, J.J. 20th, 7.5 secs and Hakkinen 21st, 7.7 secs slower than fastest time.

OK, final results for our F1 guys after 12 stages:

-J.J. 10th (-5.36.1).
-Raikkonen 13th (-6.34.0).
-Hakkinen 19th (-13.44.4).

Salo retired because of technical problem.

J.J. and Kimi pretty damn respectful. I don't know much details about their cars but Finnish rally series ain't slow even though it's amateur rally so finishing that high up is very good. Hopefully we can get more other F1 guys in there like there has been before.

Check out some of action on youtube!

Kimi is #19, J.J #21, Hakkinen #36 and Salo #37

Hey FInn you need to start a rally Sweden thread ... Yep you should handle the WRC , seeing you have so much rally experience ......

Well here is a likkle update on the news front :

Rally Sweden :

Kimi Raikkonen , still running outside the top ten after their problems earlier today, with Raikkonen's crash leaving him 47th at present, half an hour behind the leaders.

Ohhhh, No say it isn't so ........ A.Wayne's right again ....

You're right, I should start rally threads on Rennlist, I'm afraid I'm too busy for that but I'll try.

Raikkonen lost 26 minutes after going to snow bank, slowly but deep enough to lost all that time, he had to shovel himself out...
He also lost bunch of time an Stage 2 when he was stuck behind Sheik who went out and came back in front of Kimi (you should hear the incar comments of Kimi & Co-Driver, they certainly are NOT for kids!
Below is a photo of Kimi shoveling snow with kiddie shovel...

Yeah Wayne, you're right as always.

I doubt there was anyone who didn't think Kimi will screw up especially in 1st half of the season, it's normal.
What did you think? He'd be on top after just handful of rallies where all the top guys have years and years of experience? Especially on snow...
I'm sure you know how well your idol Alonso drives on snow?
I'm sure you heard about the results of recent snow go-kart race..?
(Hint: Alonso only managed to beat Massa's brother who was last...

Anyways, I've driven thousands of miles on gravel, snow & ice and back in Finland had FIA A Junior Rally Licence, what's your "rally experience"?
