Default Winterfest SuperSolo youtubes

Here are some laps from Supersolo at Sebring from Winterfest 2009.

I am as happy as a kid with a lolliepop with the 2:24's on Toyo's:

4 laps of the first session out on Thursday with some tow from Erik, but I could'nt quite keep up, he ran a 2:21!!2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBcGL...e=channel_page

3 laps of the first session out on Sunday, since Erik takes forver to warm up, I got tired of waiting for him:

A bit cold, but the cold temps were good for a second or 2, so no complaints. brakes and engine nice and cool.

Thanks for everyone in SuperSolo for cooperating on track and a great time on track!

One more, wait for the last lap hairpin, I had to let him go after that, R888's need 34 PSI max, grip goes away fast above that

Or just watch the last 10 seconds ;-) How any turns is lock to lock in a GT3?
I can't count fast enough

Peter:
Great videos, made me wish I would have made it and makes me re-think selling RS. You are really drivinmg good and those are great time. Amazing that Eirk is doing 2:21 in a street car. Time for you to try a set of slicks, I am thinking into the teens! Hope to so you soon and keep having fun.

Who wouldda thunk it!

I actually stole Eriks Traqmate data and video to analyze the laps. (And to keep him honest )

Boyd, c'mon this is too much fun. Rethink selling the RS and see you at the 48hoursofsebring!!

I guess you are talking about turn 17? I only saw the aftermath, both cars sitting there looking stunned.

Not anyone I spoke to.

A grey M3 E30 came around T17 and they were still spinning, but he did not see them hit.

I didn't have an opportunity to speak to the "punter", only the "puntee". I have a pretty good idea of what happened based on the stories told and the marks on the cars. I'm just glad no one was injured.

I was reminded that the car that did the punting was black-flagged twice at the Gold Coast Region event the weekend before. ...and that he had spun 2x in the previous session. You'd hope that the sum total of those experiences would have made an impression on him before he took out another car.

You're gonna need a handwritten note from the Pope in the future to get into PBOC's SuperSolo program from this point on. There were what, six provisional drivers in the event that weekend?

Yes, too bad.
The incident was not the highlight of the SuperSolo program.

I wonder if a punter should pay at least partial compensation for damages?

We all take the same risks out there and no one is obligated to write anyone a check for smacking into another driver.

That being said, the "stand up thing to do" is to apologize and offer to help out with the repairs. That will get you your man card back and is good for much respect in the paddock.

I suppose it does count to know the guy you are passing and how you rate him on man card credintials..

I was one of the provisional drivers in Super Solo - silver 996 #132. Here is my video from Friday afternoon - http://www.vimeo.com/2856674. It was frustrating trying to get past the black GT3 as he outpowered me on the straights only to have me ride his bumper in the corners.

I enjoyed running in the group and made sure that I behaved. If I took a chance to pass the guy, we would have had the same issue. I opted to wait.

Yes, this is not racing, when in doubt, better be safe and wait, instead of becoming an "incident".
The black 911 (No GT3, just GT3 aero) gave not much indication that he knew you were there.

Having said that, it can help if you get some cooperation from bigger HP cars that are lapping slower.

I always point-by an get of the gas, just to avoid risk and appreciate it if I receive the same.
Like so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BgbgGuFfsA This is also as close as I ever got to spining my car, see the last 10 secs. of the video.

Nice line, maybe zoom out a bit, so we can see your hands and the upcoming corners ;-)
