Helmet & Gear Bag

I’m looking for something that will neatly compact all of my gear. Helmet, Hans, gloves, shoes, socks. Suit I will hang up separately.

The shock doctor looks like a nice bag, even has a compartment for a laptop. I wish there were other pictures that show it opened up. They don’t mention anything about a helmet, but I assume it has a spot for it since it says its designed for all your items at the track. . http://www.shockdoctor.com/product/racer-backpack.aspx

This is another shock doctor bag I’m considering. Looks like it’s big enough to fit everything needed for a weekend including gear. http://www.shockdoctor.com/product/p...oller-bag.aspx

Then there is the Simpson bag. Once again no pictures of it opened up. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...asp?RecID=3417

Anyone have any of these they can comment about or some other neat bag not listed.

The backpack wouldn't be the best fit for all of your gear. I have one and it's more of a briefcase. I use it to carry my stuff on an airplane when travelling to a race. The HNR goes in along with the computer a book, odds n ends, and a separate helmet blower bag attaches to it.

The 30 and 36" PowerDry gearbags are great and what I have been using for my trackside stuff. The 30" holds all my gear plus a couple of extra itmes, the 36" is the one I'll bring on a plane and carry everything I'd need for a long weekend at a race. If I had to choose one I'd go with the 36".

First bag I had was the Sparco Gear2 (??) bag, a smaller roller bag and it just wasn't big enough as I had to empty the bag out to get to anything that wasn't directly on top. It's now being used to hold my karting gear.

They are going to be updating the bags in the next few months. The newer ones are a bit more streamlined and don't look like they will hold as much.

I've really liked all my ShockDoctor stuff.

The 36" PowerDry that I have has only been used a couple of times, one trackday and one airplane flight to Portland and back. I was going to list it here in a couple of days with some other 'housecleaning' items for 180 shipped. Since I carry the line I'm going to get the new one to bring to the track. The 30" is already spoken for.

Get the big Sparco roller bag.

Thanks for the advice. Does the 30" PowerDry have seperate pockets inside or is it just a open type suitcase?

It's an open type suitcase with what they call "fold flat shelves".

The shelves are made of a stiff mesh and are designed to help keep the gear neat and separated during the use of the powerdry blower. They can be used to make separate areas but aren't ideal.

The size difference from the old to the new is less than it appeared to me.

30x18x14 for the older and 30x16x14 for the soon to be released newer style.

I use the Bell Hans Helmet Bag, a bargain at $35 and fits my helmet, Hans, shoes, and accessories. Fully padded too. A driving suit wouldn't fit in there, so it sounds like what you need.

I got the HANS helmet bag when I got my HANS a few years go. I figured based on how much that stupid thing cost I wanted to protect it. It works great and I alwasy leave the HANS attached the helmet.

I keep gloves, shoes, socks & balaclava in small sparco bag. The race suit goes on a hanger loose.

Works pretty well. I looked at the shock doctor bags. They look nice, but I don't need he cooling features since the air so dry in Arizona. My feeling is a good bag for the helmet and HANS and a regular gym bag will work for everything else.

I've got a G-Force gear bag. It has a compartment for my helmet & hans, plenty of room for my suit, shoes, and other gear. It was cheap and does what it's supposed to do..
