Default Have you ever put anything WARMER than ambient air in your Cool Box?

A semi-serious question.
I have a Kinetic sponsored Road Atlanta track day on Friday here in, er "Hot" 'lanta".

Here is the forecast for Fri Jan 16:
Sunny

High 32°
Low 17°
Precip 0%

I'm thinking hot tea.

Whats the coldest you've tracked- and were you cold or did you get up to temp? Especially (only) for those with no heaters.

I was on track when it was 38 degrees. My core was fine, but my feet and hands were FROZEN! I didn't notice it until we had a black flag all and had to sit in pit lane for 5 minutes. COLD. I was driving a factory GT car so there is no heater to speak of, there's no windows, or weather stripping as well for that matter.

I deleted my heater a while back. I still drive to the track on the hwy. If its less than 45F, my feet and legs get pretty cold after a hour. This is 3 hours.

Perhaps light ski underwear inside my suit is the call.

It snowed at Barber last year didn't it?

The PCA canceled RA last year due to snow and I suspect this year as well because there's always the threat in Jan of cold and/or snow/wet. Better than 103F ambient in June 08 IMO.

I was at RR that weekend. Sat was nice, Sat night we had snow and freezing rain. I had sheets of ice impacting my windshield going into turn one on the first run on Sunday. It warmed up to about 35 but rained most of the day. My car stayed parked the rest of the day and I wore rain gear on top of my suit riding with my student. With the heat cranked.

I don't see any reason you couldn't put warm water in the cooler if you were really cold.

been on track plenty of times in the "cold" (it's all relative...thankfully i dont live where it gets really cold)...i've driven in some races where the temps have been in the teens and several in the 20's to 30's...i remember racing in the snow at vir in feb of 2006 and brutal (to me) cold at the 2006 vir 13 hr, not really an issue once you're in the car...

the worst time was an enduro where it was cold and raining and i was co-driving a spec e30. the car had no dead pedal and had holes in the floor board...after a while, i realized my left foot was resting in water and it was soaked (and cold)...that sucked...

i've always been fine in the car (when i'm dry, lol), just layer up...i also have an extra layer of blubber that helps

it's the standing around in the cold waiting to drive that i hate...

New forecast lows may reach 8-11F. Thats cold enough for anyone.
Its my feet that I think will feel it most with no heat and thin track shoes on.

Oh well, if my Go Pro doesn't seize up- film at 11.

I went on track at RA at the NASA event last December. It was about 30 and track was very cold. With drivers suit and gloves I had no problem staying warm. I was, however unable to build any heat in the Michelin sllicks and therefore just scooted around with very little traction. After the 2nd session I just put on the trailer.

I hear you. In Dec I was there it was high 40's and cloudy- R6's were fine but I took my time, before AND after warm up laps. On the other hand, cool down lap was from 10A/10B to pit in.

But that was a month and 20 degrees ago.
